On September 30, 2026, a briefing was held at the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan dedicated to the implementation of digital systems, the development of international cooperation in migration, the introduction of an electronic visa system, and the online registration of foreign citizens staying in the country.
The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in our country, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Consuls of Turkmenistan abroad, as well as representatives of public organizations and mass media.
During the briefing, primary attention was paid to the implementation of advanced digital technologies in the country's migration system. It was noted that, in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On Migration", an electronic visa (e-Visa) issuing system has been introduced, enabling foreign citizens and stateless persons to obtain entry permits to Turkmenistan.
Along with this, special attention was paid to updating the regulations regarding the registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons at their place of stay, extending their period of stay, and deregistration. The State Migration Service of Turkmenistan has developed an "Online Registration System" to register foreign citizens staying in the country. Thanks to this, foreign citizens as well as host individuals and legal entities have been granted the opportunity to register foreign citizens online, without needing to visit the Service's departments in person.
The new digital services will allow foreign citizens arriving in our country to save time, transition document workflows into an electronic format, and complete all procedures promptly and through a simplified process. Additionally, these systems will enhance the efficiency of the migration service and align service delivery with modern requirements.
Turkmenistan's achievements in humanitarian law were highlighted, including the successful implementation of the United Nations global #IBelong campaign, through which statelessness was eradicated in the country. It was also stressed that Turkmenistan actively collaborates with the United Nations, the International Organization for Migration, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and other international organizations.
At the conclusion of the briefing, presentation videos were shown, followed by a productive exchange of views on topics of interest to the participants.
Speakers at the end of the event wished good health and long life to the Hero-Arkadag and the esteemed President, who pursue a humane policy for the peaceful life of our people, and wished them further success in their great endeavors for the benefit of the country and its people!
