THE INSTITUTE OF STATE, LAW AND DEMOCRACY OF TURKMENISTAN

On July 22–23 of this year, a representative of the Ombudsman’s Office took part in the regional practical workshop of the European Union Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 11) titled "Enhancing Women’s Participation and Mainstreaming Gender Dimensions in Cross-Border Cooperation in Central Asia", which was held in the city of Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic.

The workshop was also attended by representatives of relevant agencies of our country, namely the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The main objective of the event was to discuss key areas for enhancing women's participation and mainstreaming gender aspects into cross-border cooperation in Central Asia.

During the meeting, the participants discussed mechanisms for strengthening the role of women in decision-making processes and developing cross-border interaction. The representatives of Turkmenistan shared national experience in the field of human rights protection, promotion of gender initiatives and legal reforms, as well as strengthening public safety and regional cooperation.
