On February 11, 2022, under the chairmanship of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, an extraordinary meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty (People's Council) of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan was held.
The meeting was attended by elected members of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, deputies of the Mejlis, heads of state authorities, political parties and public organizations, hyakims of velayats, etraps and cities, honorary elders of the people representatives of all segments of the population.
The agenda of the national forum, which became a landmark event in the life of the country, included a discussion of the priority tasks for the further comprehensive development of the Turkmen state and society, the steady implementation of progressive transformations and reforms, the key goal of which is to ensure a prosperous life for the people, lay a reliable foundation for the prosperity of the Motherland, counting on long term perspective.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the heads of ministries and departments of the country, as well as the hyakims of the velayats reported on the results of the work done for 2021.
As the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, one of the main issues of this important event is the determination of the main directions for the development of our independent state for 2022-2052 and the adoption of important decisions on the comprehensive development of the country for the next 30 years.
In the speech of the President of Turkmenistan, a special place was occupied by the main directions of development of the state and its institutions for the next 30 years. The head of state noted that the priority in this matter is to improve the living conditions of people, as well as to achieve stabilization of the macroeconomic state
Among the most important priorities for the further implementation of the progressive state policy, the Leader of the Nation outlined the use of all means for the stable development of the economy. In order to develop the non-state sector and transfer the economy to market relations, we also provide for broad support for entrepreneurship, the Head of State said.
The President also spoke about the importance of the foreign policy of the state and the high authority of Turkmenistan in the international arena.
As the Head of State emphasized, in the coming decades, in its foreign policy, Turkmenistan will focus priority efforts on five targeted strategic directions. These are as following: ensuring peace and security, developing and promoting neutrality on the world stage, steadily building up and diversifying foreign economic relations, promoting sustainable development in every way and promoting the humanization of international relations, bringing high standards of morality, ethic and justice to them.
Emphasizing that this is a task for decades to come, a long-term vector of our foreign policy, the Leader of the Nation stated that the fundamental, defining principles and approaches of the foreign policy line of the Turkmen state remain unchanged.
Within the framework of the meeting, the program "Revival of a new era of a sovereign state: the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052" was adopted.
