THE INSTITUTE OF STATE, LAW AND DEMOCRACY OF TURKMENISTAN
The Center is created and operates as part of the Regulation and Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on cooperation in the legal field, signed by the Turkmen and German sides on June 5, 2021.
The Center for Turkmen-German Comparative Law was implemented by the Regional Program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) “Promotion the Rule of Law in Central Asia”.
On January 30, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Center for Turkmen-German Comparative Law was held at the Institute of State, Law and Democracy.
The main tasks of the Center for Turkmen-German Comparative Law are:
— conducting scientific research in the field of comparative law
— assistance in improving the qualifications of Turkmen legal practitioners in civil, civil procedural, administrative, administrative procedural law
— elaboration of scientific and practical legal literature in joint working groups
— joint drafting of proposals for improving legislation.
The Center is open to the public and provides visitors with access to specialized human rights literature, reference books, guides and other materials.
The main activity of the Center is the development of cooperation between scientific and educational institutions of Turkmenistan and Germany. Thus, its creation and opening will serve to further strengthen productive bilateral contacts and enrich their content.
