The Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan together with the UNDP in Turkmenistan announces an Essay writing competition dedicated to the International Human Rights Day.
The competition is held among students of Turkmenistan studying international law.
The main topics of the written contest are:
– The role of international human rights law;
– International and national mechanisms for the protection of human rights;
– International cooperation in the field of human rights;
– Implementation of international human rights law at the national level.
Participants need to submit their written works, no more than 5 pages in Times New Roman 14 format (line space 1,5) in Turkmen, Russian or English. Plagiarism is not allowed.
Each work should state the name of the author, name of the institution and provide contact information (e-mail; phone number).
Works must be sent by e-mail: undptm@gmail.com no later than 7 December 2021.
The submissions will be evaluated on a 10-point system according to the following criteria:
- Relevance;
- Content part;
- Suggested recommendations.
To evaluate the work and select the winners, a jury consisting of the following representatives of the Ministries and entities of Turkmenistan will be created:
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
- Ministries of Adalat of Turkmenistan
- Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli
- Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
- International University for Humanities and Development
- Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan
- UNDP in Turkmenistan and the Reg. office
The results of the competition will be announced in a festive atmosphere on 10 December 2021 in the UN Building, the winners will be awarded with certificates and prizes.
