“THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN IN TURKMENISTAN ON HUMAN RIGHTS FOR 2021-2025 ” WAS APPROVED BY THE DECREE OF THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN

Rights and freedoms of human and citizens in Turkmenistan are recognized in accordance with generally recognized norms of international law and are guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of Turkmenistan. Ensuring, promoting, protecting and upholding human and civil rights and freedoms is a priority of state policy pursued by our esteemed President.

Ensuring human rights and freedoms in the country is a key indicator of democratic reforms in Turkmenistan aimed at improving the living conditions of people.

In order to strengthen the state system of guaranteeing, ensuring and protecting human rights and freedoms in Turkmenistan, as well as carrying out the relevant work on the systematic implementation of Turkmenistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and enhancing cooperation with international organizations in the humanitarian sphere, “The National Action Plan in Turkmenistan on human rights for 2021-2025” was approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on April 16, 2021.

The new plan will serve as a national instrument for the next five years, which will include measures aimed at fulfilling its obligations under the international instruments to which it has acceded.
