THE RESULTS OF THE COMPETITION “CREATIVE ACTIVITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS” ARE ANNOUNCED

On December 6, on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and International Human Rights Day, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a festive celebration “Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan: creative activity and principles of implementation of human rights” organized by the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan jointly with the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan and dedicated to the results of the competition of scientific and practical articles “Creative activity and human rights” announced by the magazine “Democracy and Law”.

As it is known, at the beginning of 2022, the magazine and websites announced the competition. Many articles from specialists in the education system, scientific institutions, and law enforcement agencies were submitted. The best articles were published in the journal “Democracy and Law”. The jury members chose the most distinguished articles from the theoretical and practical points of view from among those submitted to the competition.

The competition was aimed to aware the public on development of national legislation and the significance of the legal status of the permanent neutrality of our state, guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of citizens in the legislative sphere, and activities to implement rights.

The articles of the competition participants were devoted to ensuring the harmonization of the legislation of Turkmenistan and the norms of international law, the implementation of children’s rights, the development of transport diplomacy, as well as the development of the maritime transport industry and the improvement of its legal framework, aspects of the development of the legislative framework on environmental information. In addition, there were papers among those submitted, in which, on a scientific and practical basis, the role of the digital system in the implementation of administrative legislation, the importance of ethical standards in the prevention of offenses, and the features of lawyer professional ethics were considered.

According to the jury members, the first place was awarded to the article “Harmonization of National Legislation and International Law Norms” by Durli Balliyeva, Senior Lecturer, Department of International Law and Comparative Law  of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Dovran Karadjayev, Teacher, Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of the Institute of the Ministry Internal affairs of Turkmenistan, was awarded the second place for the article “The Role of Ethics for Crime Prevention”, and the third place - to Myakhri Synykova, Postgraduate student, Department of Civil Law of the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli, for the article “Significance of Legal Regulation of the Maritime Transport Industry”.

The winners were awarded certificates of honor and valuable gifts.
