On 14 May 2026, the Human Rights Development Forum “China – Central Asia” 2026 was held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Forum was co-organized by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights.
The main theme of the Forum was “Joint Promotion of Progress in the Field of Human Rights through High-Quality Development”.
During the event, three thematic sessions were held: — Cooperation in implementing poverty reduction and population well-being improvement projects with a view to realizing the right to development; — Environmental protection, green development and human rights protection; — Joint efforts to promote digital intelligent technologies contributing to human rights development.
The Forum was attended by the Chief Scientific Researcher of the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, Candidate of Legal Sciences Dovlet Charymyradovich Amanmyradov, who delivered a speech at the plenary session on key areas of cooperation between China and the Central Asian countries in the field of human rights.
At the conclusion of the Human Rights Development Forum “China – Central Asia”, the final declaration titled the “Tashkent Initiative” was adopted.
This Forum will make a significant contribution to the exchange of experience and the further expansion of mutual cooperation between China and the countries of Central Asia in the sphere of human rights.
