NEXT ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE “DEMOCRACY AND LAW”

The latest issue of the quarterly scientific and applied journal “Democracy and Law”, published by the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, has been published in Turkmen, English and Russian.

The publication opens with a speech by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on December 9, 2024. In his speech, the head of state summed up the activities related to international cooperation, and also outlined the key vectors of the Fatherland's foreign policy and priority tasks in this direction for 2025.

It emphasizes that in the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, our country is implementing comprehensive programs and projects to modernize and diversify the national economy, where priority is given to digitalization , the introduction of innovative solutions and advanced technologies. Successful solution of the tasks set in this direction creates broad opportunities for progressive comprehensive development of the Fatherland. At the same time, it is emphasized that in Turkmenistan the right to information is one of the basic constitutional human rights. In our country, relations in this area are regulated by the Basic Law, a number of other normative legal acts, adopted concepts and programs.

In this context, the article notes the importance of ensuring information and cyber security , which in the light of modern realities is an integral factor in sustainable development. In Turkmenistan, a set of measures is being implemented in this area, including improving relevant legislation, modernizing the relevant infrastructure and material and technical base, creating optimal conditions for the fruitful work of the media, etc. All this contributes to the active integration of the country into the global digital and information space, strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy in the international market, improving the standard and quality of life of Turkmen citizens and, in general, the progress of the Fatherland.

The article, devoted to the role of information technologies ( IT ) in the socio -economic development of Turkmenistan, notes that today digital transformation is one of the key conditions for the country's steady progress. That is why President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has identified the active implementation of IT among the national strategic priorities in the medium term. in various sectors of the economy and the creation of a safe specialized infrastructure.
