On 21-22 March 2023, the National Spring Holiday – International Nowruz Day has been widely celebrated in Turkmenistan. The Spring Holiday Nowruz lights our ancient land up with the warmth of spiritual values, the wisdom of centuries and is celebrated across Turkmenistan with traditional music and songs, vibrant folklore and ethnical performances that make up wonderful emotions and impressions. Main festivities took place in traditional Nowruz ýaýlasy site in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Akhal velayat.
“Nowruz symbolizes the awakening of new life, humanism, unity, being such for the whole world. The traditions associated with it are designed to strengthen relations between members of the international community based on the principles of peace, friendship, fraternity and goodwill,” noting its consolidating significance, emphasized President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory address to the people of the country on the occasion of the holiday.
Celebrations filled with national spirit of Nowruz, which are reasonably considered as integral part of the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people, personify the well-being, sustainable development of the Motherland, its desire for peace and progress. Nowruz inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is not just a spring festival and a symbol of the triumph of the nature awakening. This is a holiday of peace, good neighborliness and friendship, mutual understanding between people.
