MEJLIS OF TURKMENISTAN HELD ITS FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW CONVOCATION

On April 6, 2023, the first meeting of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the seventh convocation was held at the Center of Public Organizations with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during which top officials of the national parliament were elected, and the priority tasks of the deputy corps were identified.

Following the Article 80 of the Turkmenistan’s Constitution and Article 8 of the Law of Turkmenistan “On the Mejlis of Turkmenistan”, the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Parliament were elected by a secret ballot. Taking part in the first meeting of the Mejlis of the new convocation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Law of Turkmenistan on the election of D. Gulmanova as Chair, and G. Rozyyev as Deputy Chair of the national parliament.

In addition, during the first meeting of the national parliament of the seventh convocation, new heads of eight committees of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan were elected.
