TÜRKMENISTANYŇ DÖWLET, HUKUK WE DEMOKRATIÝA INSTITUTY
On October 10, 2023, in Ashgabat, a seminar on “Local governance bodies: international and national practice” was held, which was organized by the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, jointly with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, representatives of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, local governance bodies, and international experts.
The seminar was aimed to familiarize with international experience in the activities of khyakimliks and governance bodies, as well as discuss issues related to the specifics and importance of national practice.
In addition, seminars on the same topic will be held in all velayats of the country: on October 11 – in Lebap velayat, on October 13 – in Dashoguz velayat, on October 16 – in Balkan velayat and on October 19 – in Mary velayat.
